Welcome to Marry Me In Indy! LLC.  My name is Victoria Meyer and I have the best job in the world!  It’s my full-time job to marry people!

Every day, I get to be a part of the beginning - or the continuation - of something amazing!

I get to witness love in action as couples from every walk of life allow me to be the person who officiates their wedding.

Over the last decade, it has been my absolute privilege to be a part of thousands of wedding ceremonies.

I wanted to become a wedding officiant to make it easy for every couple to be legally married.  I wanted every couple to have the opportunity to enjoy their wedding day - be it a quick civil ceremony or a full, formal wedding - without judgement.

The act of getting married and taking the next step in your relationship is something that makes you more. You are more together then each of you could ever be alone. The last thing you should ever have to do is apologize about who you love and in what way you choose to marry them.

Thank you to all of the couples that have chosen me to marry them over the years.

I’m humbled every day by the lives and stories that are shared with me.

To all those who have trusted me with the intimacies of them - either a secret wedding in my office, or the stories of their life and love to be incorporated into their ceremony - Thank You!

To every couple that walks off the street into my office - Thank You!

To every couple that trusts me, a complete stranger, to meet them in a seemingly random location to marry them - Thank You!

To every couple that has trusted me to enter their home to marry them - Thank You!

To every parent who has trusted me to marry their child - Thank You!

To the black man that called seven pastors who said no, before calling to ask me, “Will you marry a black man to a white woman?” I’m so sorry you had to endure that 7  times, but thank you for calling one more person. I'm so happy that person was me and I got to be the person to marry you!  I will never forget your wedding vows and the African drummers!

To the first scared couple who called and said “We could get married as a man and woman at the  courthouse, but he doesn’t identify as a man and he wants to wear a dress.  Can you help us?”  Thank You!  Thank you for trusting me to marry you.  Thank you for accepting me at face value and helping me to understand you and your life and relationship.

When I started my career as a wedding officiant, marriage equality was a dream, now it’s a part of life and my everyday business.

To every gay couple that has called to make sure I am legit, thank you for explaining why words on a website are not enough to trust and that “LGBT Welcome” is not always true.  I’m so happy I was the one ready, willing, and able to marry you.  Thank you for allowing me to put ideas and truths I didn’t truly understand into action, and bring a new era to life.

My husband and I moved to Indiana almost 15 years ago.  We had a three-year-old son and I was nine months pregnant!  We were warmly welcomed by the Indianapolis community and it’s been home ever since.  My husband Peter and I have  been married over 30 years.  We were legally married in a civil ceremony in Peter’s native Germany. We also had a church ceremony in the church where I grew up here in the US.  We have been through the green card process,  the naturalization process, and the get married twice process!  Both of our boys are on the Autism spectrum.

I graduated with a degree in Pastry Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI and worked as a pastry chef in first class hotels for over 10 years.  I worked in credit card banking customer service in every capacity from basic telephone customer service to Office of the President complaint resolutions. I grew up in Delaware. I’ve lived in Rhode Island, Colorado, New Mexico, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Germany and Indiana. I bring my broad and diverse life experiences to my job every day, welcoming all walks of life.

Peter has just joined me officiating weddings in my office and traveling around the area for small weddings and elopements!

We BOTH hope to be marrying you in Indy some time soon!  :-)
